About Yamato
The largest battleship ever built, displacing 72,000 tonnes with 460mm guns. Built in total secrecy. Intended to fight ship-to-ship but aircraft made it obsolete. Sunk by American torpedo bombers in 1945 during a one-way suicide mission. Took 11 torpedoes and 6 bomb hits to go down.
