About Dreadnought

HMS Dreadnought made all existing battleships obsolete overnight. First powered by steam turbines, making it faster than anything afloat. All-big-gun design with ten 12-inch guns. Its name became the generic term for battleships. Sparked a naval arms race leading to WWI.
