About Ulfberht Sword
About 170 Ulfberht swords have been found, all bearing the +VLFBERH+T inscription. Made from crucible steel far purer than anything else in medieval Europe. The technology would not be matched for 800 years. How Vikings obtained this steel from Persia or India remains debated. Counterfeits with misspelled inscriptions also exist.
