About Gladius
The short sword that conquered the known world. Designed for thrusting in close formation. Legionaries were trained to stab, not slash, as stabbing wounds were more lethal. Each Roman soldier carried one as standard issue for 600 years. Combined with the scutum shield, it was devastating in disciplined formations.
