About MG42
Hitlers buzzsaw fired 1,200 rounds per minute, so fast individual shots could not be distinguished. The sound was terrifying to Allied soldiers. So effective that the US made training films to help troops cope with the psychological effect. Its design lives on in the modern MG3 still used by NATO.
