About Spitfire
The iconic British fighter of WWII. Its elliptical wings gave it exceptional maneuverability. Fought the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the Battle of Britain. R.J. Mitchell died of cancer in 1937, never seeing his design save his country. Over 20,000 were built in 24 variants. The Merlin engine sounded like a song.
