About Kentucky Rifle
Also called the long rifle. Had a rifled barrel for much greater accuracy than muskets. Daniel Boone carried one. Developed by German immigrants in Pennsylvania. American marksmen could hit targets at 300 meters, unheard of with smoothbore muskets. The spiraling grooves in the barrel spin-stabilized the bullet.
