About Ironclad
The USS Monitor and CSS Virginia fought the first battle between ironclad ships in 1862. The battle was a draw but changed naval warfare forever. Wooden navies worldwide became obsolete overnight. The Monitor sank in a storm, its turret discovered in 1973.
