About Dynamite

Not typically a weapon but used as one in early terrorism and mining operations. Nobel created it to make nitroglycerin safer to handle. The Irish Republican Brotherhood used it in the 1880s. Nobel was so horrified by its use that he created the Peace Prize. The name comes from Greek dynamis, meaning power.
