About Depth Charge

The first effective anti-submarine weapon. Dropped over the side of ships, detonating at a set depth. The explosion created a pressure wave that could crush a submarine hull. The hedgehog spigot mortar fired 24 charges ahead of the ship. U-boat crews feared the metallic clang of a depth charge hitting the water above.
