About Battle Axe
Viking axes were cheaper than swords, making them the common warriors weapon. The bearded axe design allowed the blade to hook over shields. Some had shafts over 1.5 meters long. King Harald Hardrada, the last Viking king, wielded one at Stamford Bridge in 1066.
